I’m Lynn, the person pounding the keys, sharing my story.
I live in Sacramento, California, with my husband, three cats, and three children. I adopted two daughters through foster care approximately five years ago. This has led me to become an advocate for foster child adoption on Twitter and Facebook. I also strongly support open adoption if it’s in the best interest of the child; I hope my daughters will meet their biological parents someday.
I’ve been featured on Carrie Goldman’s 30 Days of Adoption at Chicago Now and have contributed articles to Transfiguring Adoption. I’ve also given talks at foster adoption orientation classes.
I write about my experiences as an adoptive mother each Thursday on Written Reflections.
This blog, Born in My Heart was created to share my journey as an adoptive mother and support others who have adopted.
There are currently over 100,000 legal orphans – children whose parents have had their legal rights removed – waiting to be adopted in the United States alone. I hope sharing my story will educate the public about this epidemic.
Please contact me at lksollitto(at)gmail(dot)com if you have any questions about foster adoption, would like me to write for you, and/or speak about foster care adoption.
Please say hello and tell me a little about yourself!
